Rose’s story

“I have had such fun writing stories since you sent me the announcement of the Lear Prize.... I wrote one short story, having Googled what a short story should be, and finally sent it in. Then I felt bereft and wrote another one, less spontaneous, more artful, probably worse. At the moment I am writing a third. I find it entertaining, therapeutic and a destination for all the fears and frustrations of the time. I am very grateful for the chance to do this. Without your Lear Prize I would never have done it, since in my seventy three years of life I never had the urge to write stories before. Thanks for all your time and effort.”
